The Global Pickleball Federation - Quick History

GPF's Mission and Collaboration

The Global Pickleball Federation (GPF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to standardizing and promoting pickleball globally. It collaborates with regional associations across the Americas, Africa, Oceania, Asia, and Europe, aiming to establish pickleball as an Olympic sport. The GPF's diverse leadership ensures decisions reflect the sport's international nature.

Formation and Structure

Initiated by Pickleball Canada and Australia, the GPF was launched in November 2023. It oversees four continental federations with 52 member countries. The federation's structure includes eight volunteer committees focusing on various aspects like high-performance development, community outreach, and coaching.

Achievements and Future Prospects

Despite its youth, the GPF has established IOC-compliant bylaws, implemented the "Active8" growth strategy, and launched an equipment grant program. It supported the 13th African Games, marking the first intercontinental pickleball tournament in Africa. As pickleball continues its rapid global growth, the GPF plays a crucial role in maintaining the sport's integrity and promoting its worldwide expansion.
